Adobe Flash is an application in the form of animation studio working on "Frames" for the production and delivery of interactive content for different audiences around the world regardless of the platform. It is currently written and distributed by Adobe Systems, and uses raster images and vector graphics, sound, program code, video stream and two-way audio (the flow of climb is only available if used in conjunction with Macromedia Flash Communication Server). Strictly speaking, Flash is the environment and Flash Player is the program used to run virtual machine files created with Flash.
Flash files, which generally have the file extension SWF, may appear on a web page to be viewed in a browser, or can be reproduced independently by a Flash player. Flash files appear very often as animations in Web pages and multimedia Web sites, and most recently Rich Internet Applications. They are also widely used in advertisements on the web.
In earlier versions, Macromedia Flash extended to beyond mere animations, making it a comprehensive development tool for creating multimedia and interactive elements primarily for the Internet.
Until 2005 was owned by the company then known as Macromedia Flash ® and Macromedia acquired by Adobe Systems (since then known as Adobe Flash) thereby expanding its portfolio of products within the market.
